British lustre wool handwoven cushion

£180.00

Handwoven using an ecru yarn from a farm in Cumbria and a pale brown yarn from a farm in Somerset this cushion combines two British lustre wools. Wool is natural, renewable, breathable and durable among its many other qualities. Grown by sheep, cared for by farmers, spun in small mills and handwoven by me this smooth and slightly silky cushion in a classic houndstooth design is reassuringly plump.

The hand weaving process is a great example of slow textiles and the journey from design to selecting colours, preparing the loom, weaving, washing and then sewing means that each piece takes more than two days to make. Each stage is done by hand which also means that each one is unique. All you need to do is enjoy it and follow the simple care advice so that it can adorn your favourite chair or sofa for many years.

Material: 100% rare breed British wool, sourced from two farms and two mills in the UK, filled with a duck feather, cotton covered cushion insert.

Dimensions: approx. 50x50cm
